Photos emerged recently of Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart at a Los Angeles area bar looking very back on after her highly-publicized cheating scandal.
For those of you who may not know, she was caught red-handed smooching her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.
Even after photographic evidence plastered all over the tabloids, it seems Robert is taking back his cheating flame. When it comes to cheating, is it best to forgive and forget or move on? We interviewed a group of men and women about how they stand on the cheating issue.
When it comes to cheating, many of the people we interviewed strongly believed that cheaters should be kicked to the curb.
“I would never take back someone who cheated on me because they will just do it again,” says Alberto, 38 and single of Coral Gables, FL.
“I just think once that trust is broken, there is no turning back,” echoed Karen, a 25-year-old in a serious relationship from Los Angeles.
Others claimed that they have actually tried to forgive, but just couldn’t forget.
Lauren, 27, said, “I tried to move past it once my ex cheated, and then apologized and swore he would change, but I really just couldn’t get over it. Every time he was five minutes late or wouldn’t pick up the phone, I immediately thought that he was cheating again. It really wasn’t fair to continue the relationship, so I ended it.”
Several people we interviewed are currently in relationships where they have moved past the cheating successfully.
Cara, 28, from New York, tells twodaymag, “Sam and I were living on different coasts and still trying to maintain a relationship, but it was hard. I did cheat on him and later found out he cheated on me. When he told me about his infidelity, I understood, because I had done the same thing. Needless to say, we moved on and are now living in the same city, together, and engaged.”
Sara, 26, of New York also cheated on her now-fiance, and says they were able to move past it, with a bit of work. “After he found out I was cheating, he kicked me out of the house. A year went by and I worked on myself, examined why I was cheating, and went back to him to talk. Luckily, he was open to getting back together. I have had to change many things in my life. I really have had to work overtime to prove myself, but because I am with him, it is really worth it and I am so grateful he eventually forgave me.”
