The House debated yesterday on a proposed bill that would strip federal funding from Planned Parenthood for women’s health and sex education. Listen to California representative, Jackie Speier, inspiring speech as she abandons her original speech and bravely discusses her own abortion because her “stomach is in knots” by what is being said about women’s health on the floor.

In her case, she wanted her pregnancy, but lost it due to severe complications. “But for you to stand on this floor and to suggest, as you have, that somehow this is a procedure that is either welcomed or done cavalierly or done without any thought is preposterous.”
