Are Children of Lesbian Couples Psychologically Sound?

Posted by Natalie on Tue, 08.06.10 at 04:24PM in In the News Love Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

According to a 17 year-old study conducted at the University of California that studied families headed by lesbian parents, the answer is yes. This study showed that these children were more psychologically sound, have less behavioral issues, were less aggressive and less prone to breaking rules than children raised by heterosexual parents.

Adult Breastfeeding Establishes “Maternal Relations” in the Middle East

Sounds to Me Like Some Countries Have Mommy Issues...

As many of us know, women and men in Saudi Arabia must be careful not to mingle, as the insanely strict Islamic law bans mixing between the sexes who are not related. Recently, the Saudis have issued a fatwa that forces women who come into contact with unrelated men on a regular basis to breastfeed them so that they can be considered “relatives” and not potential lovers. The strangest part is, this isn’t the actual issue at hand. The issue is, how do the men get the milk? I know, it just gets weirder.

Uganda Eats the Poo Poo

Warning: This Video is Very Graphic. Weak Stomaches Beware!

Seriously, has it come to this? With all of the plights facing Africa: famine, widespread child trafficking, forced prostitution, civil war, international raping of their natural resources and a rampant HIV epidemic leaving millions of children orphaned or infected, the Ugandans believe this is the best way to spend their time? Discussing what two consenting men do in the privacy of their own bedroom?

Who Knew McDonald’s Is So Socially Progressive?

In France, Of Course!

Bonjour! I have a confession to make. I haven’t eaten in a McDonald’s since I read this amazing and eye-opening book, Fast Food Nation, when I was in college about 4 or 5 years ago. So, I had no idea that McDonald’s had become so progressive and gay-friendly! They need to bring some of that attitude over to the States, however!

Nun Excommunicated for Permitting Abortion to Save Mother’s Life….

Posted by Natalie on Fri, 28.05.10 at 02:39PM in In the News Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

This one really takes the misogyny cake. Seriously, he didn’t just cut a slice, he ate the whole thing!

Rev. John Ehrich, medical ethics director for the Diocese of Phoenix really drew a line in the sand the other day when stating that a seriously ill mother of four should have been left to die rather than permitted an abortion that saved her life. The nun (and life saver) Sister Mary Margaret McBride, who was the administrator at the Catholic hospital, was excommunicated for her part in authorizing the desperately needed procedure in order to save this mother.

Orgy in China Leads to Jail Time…

....Their Crime? Too Much Fun, Apparently!

A Chinese computer science professor, Ma Yaohai, 53, has been jailed for three and a half years for running a sex club; this marks the first time in 20 years someone has actually gotten in trouble for being involved in “group licentiousness.” He pleaded not guilty to holding orgies and is planning on appealing, states the official China News Service.

2 Men Jailed for Being Gay in Malawi

An Open Letter to Malawi:

Dear Malawi,

Not sure if you got the memo, but it is 2010. I just read on http://www.nytimes.com that a gay couple in Malawi was found guilty today of “unnatural acts and gross indecency”, AKA they are a gay couple that was celebrating their engagement in a country that would rather pretend that homosexuality doesn’t exist. Well, it does. They’re here, they’re queer, get used to it!

You’ve Heard of the G-spot…But What About the G-Shot?

So, I was reading up on the G-spot today, my favorite topic, when I came across this new procedure in where a doctor takes a 3 1/2 inch needle filled with collagen (what else?) and sticks it into the G-spot, also known as the Gräfenberg Spot, making it swell to the size of a quarter.

Reasons Why You Don’t “Trick” a Man into Having a Baby

Posted by Natalie on Fri, 14.05.10 at 11:47AM in Love Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

So, yesterday, I did a blog on a very disturbing situation about a man that pulled out his partner’s NuvaRing and removed his condom. His reasoning for doing so is still vague, but I thought it would only be fair to discuss when this situation is reversed and the woman is the one trying to trick her partner into getting her pregnant. So, here we go.

LITERALLY: HANDS OFF MY BIRTH CONROL!

Can you imagine being in the middle of sex with a guy, who was wearing a condom, to finding out halfway through that said condom was on the floor, along with your NuvaRing birth control that he pulled out of your body? Go on, take it in for a minute.

Stop Asking Me! I’m Not Ready to Be a Mother!

So, I hit my mid-twenties and looked around. I noticed, wow, a lot of my friends and acquaintances are getting married and having babies. (Not necessarily in that order!) So, now, whenever I see these friends and acquaintances, the first thing out of their mouths is, “When are you going to settle down and have babies?”

Christian Activists Go After Female “Porn Addicts”

Posted by Natalie on Sat, 08.05.10 at 03:52PM in Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

Really? I mean, some women do enjoy porn just as much as their male counterparts, but addicts? Is this seriously something the Christian community is taking on as a pet cause? Little did I know that according to Theresa Flynt, VP of marketing for Hustler videos, female consumers make up of 56% of video sales. And, now with women having as much fun at the sex shop down the street as their male counterparts, the religious right has decided to step in a put an end to these naughty secret lives of women!

Oklahoma Doesn’t Believe in Women’s Rights

Posted by Natalie on Wed, 05.05.10 at 04:22PM in Self Awareness Sexuality/Health

On Tuesday, April 27, Oklahoma’s State Legislature thought it would be fun to take away reproductive choice from women. They passed TWO abortion laws that had been previously vetoed by the governor for being unconstitutional. That silly thing known as the Constitution, however, isn’t getting in the way of the Republican majority in both the house and senate. They are hell bent on doing away with all reproductive choice, one bad bill at a time.
